Monica S. Nijoka, MHA, BSN, RN new Chief Nursing Officer for The NeuroMedical Center Surgical Hospital

Ms. Nijoka received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana and a Masters in Health Care Administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Before joining The NeuroMedical Center Surgical Hospital, Ms. Nijoka consulted worldwide for MSA Healthcare Consulting Company. While there she helped healthcare organizations mentor nurses as executive leaders, comply with nursing standards of practice, regulatory and safety standards, as well as Joint Commission Standards. She also gained a vast amount of healthcare experience while working at The Baton Rouge General for over 30 years in numerous clinical and administrative roles, her last being Vice President of Patient Care. In 2003, she was chosen as Administrator of the year by the Louisiana State Nursing Association and was a founding member of the Louisiana Association of Post Anesthesia Nurses. In 2004, she was an integral member of the top leadership team recognized by Healthcare Leader’s Magazine. She is also a member in the District Nurses Association, Louisiana State Nurses Association, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Louisiana Association of Post Anesthesia, the Association of Operating Room Nurses, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and Louisiana Nurse Executives.
