Jon D. Olson, M.D.

Dr. Olson received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa before attending medical school at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Following an internship at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Dr. Olson completed his residency in neurology at the University of Rochester in New York, where he proudly served as Chief Resident of the program. Dr. Olson followed his residency with a two-year fellowship in neuro-oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York where he received extensive training in diagnosing and treating primary central nervous system tumors, particularly brain tumors.
Dr. Olson has specialized in the treatment of brain tumors and neurologic complications of cancer since joining the NeuroMedical Center in 1999. Dr. Olson is a member of several professional organizations including the Society of Neuro-Oncology, the American Academy of Neurology, the Louisiana State Medical Society and the East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society.
Dr. Olson is the Greater Baton Rouge Area’s only board certified Neurologist and Neuro-Oncologist.
