Dr. John Nyboer received his undergraduate degree in physiological psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He then moved to Detroit to attend medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and continued his medical training with an internship at St. John Hospital and Medical Center followed by a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. Before a move to Baton Rouge, Dr. Nyboer served as the Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes, Barre, Pennsylvania.

Dr. John Nyboer joined The NeuroMedical Center in 1994. He is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Spine Intervention Society and the East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society. Dr. John Nyboer is also the tournament physician for Louisiana’s Cajun Classic Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, held annually in Baton Rouge.

Dr. John Nyboer’s identical twin brother, Dr. Scott Nyboer, is also a PM&R/pain medicine specialist at The NeuroMedical Center.

Dr. John Nyboer is board certified in PM&R and pain medicine. He is currently accepting new patients.
