COMPREHENSIVE NEURODIAGNOSTIC SERVICES

Our outstanding Neurodiagnostic Lab provides a comprehensive battery of neurological testing procedures and specialized exams that diagnose, or rule out, central nervous system complications. All tests are administered by neurologists and certified technologists who all specialize in multi-modalities of neurodiagnostic and electrodiagnostic testing. Our team of neurologists interpret results, educate our patients on the findings, and formulate customized treatment plans with your referring physician.

ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAM (EEG)

An electroencephalogram (EEG or brain wave test) is a non-invasive procedure used to detect and record brain cell activity.  A physician may order an EEG to diagnose seizure disorders such as epilepsy, cerebral hemorrhages, migraines, sleep disorders, and vertigo.  Abnormalities in brain waves may also suggest head injury, tumors or abscesses in the brain, and inflammatory disease.

CAROTID ULTRASOUND STUDIES (CUS) & TRANSCRANIAL DOPPLER (TCD)

A Carotid Ultrasound Study shows the vessels in the neck that provide blood flow to the brain. It also shows us how much blood flows through the vessels and how fast the blood travels through them. Ultrasound waves are used to make an image of the arteries.  A Transcranial Doppler is a test that evaluates the blood vessels in the skull that supply the brain with blood.  These images can be used to find out if there is an abnormality or blockage of the carotid artery that could lead to a stroke.

ELECTROMYOGRAPHY (EMG) AND NERVE CONDUCTION STUDIES (NCS)

Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) are tests that measure the health and function of nerves and muscles in your limbs and spine through mild shock stimulation.  A physician may order an EMG to determine whether muscle weakness and loss of muscle strength are caused by an underlying neurological disorder including ALS, carpal tunnel syndrome, Guillain-Barre syndrome, muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, and sciatic nerve dysfunction.  NCV is often used to pinpoint the cause of nerve damage or dysfunction.
