(BATON ROUGE, LA) The Spine Hospital of Louisiana at The NeuroMedical Center, home to the region’s largest team of experts for the brain, spine and nervous system has been named Hospital of the Year ( < 60 beds) by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF). This prestigious award was accepted by The Spine Hospital of Louisiana nurses, physicians and administration at the 14th Annual Louisiana Nurses Foundation Nightingale Awards Gala at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Saturday, March 28.

In addition to a historical year that yielded highest Patient Satisfaction rates in the organization’s 10-year history, The Spine Hospital of Louisiana secured the Hospital of the Year nomination and title based on outstanding contributions to the nursing profession. The out-of-state judge’s panel of nursing leaders based their decision on the strong commitment to the professional development and personal achievement of all 42 registered nurses employed by The Spine Hospital of Louisiana. The Spine Hospital of Louisiana credits much of its enduring success to a dynamic group of nurses who are often called upon to make key organizational decisions as well as provide leadership hospital-wide.

“What a pleasure and honor it was to be surrounded by Louisiana’s best nurses” said Robert D. Blair, Spine Hospital of Louisiana CEO. “Many thanks to the Louisiana Nurses Foundation and the Louisiana State Nurses Association for recognizing the genuine dedication of our nurses around the state and hosting such a wonderful and rewarding event. We were thrilled to be in the running with so many other exceptional facilities. Having been recently ranked nationally in the TOP 5% for Patient Satisfaction and now awarded Louisiana’s top hospital ( < 60 beds), it’s difficult to express the enormity of my gratitude and respect for this team. What a wonderful, caring environment they create for our patients. We may have come home with the trophy, but our patients will always come first!”

The Spine Hospital of Louisiana, located in Baton Rouge’s Perkins Rowe is home to the largest group of neurosurgeons, ortho-spine surgeons, pain medicine physicians, neurologists, neuropsychologists, neuroradiologist and 42 registered nurses who are all specialty-trained in the neurosciences.
