Dr. Whiddon is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University where she graduated summa cum laude with undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and microbiology. Dr. Whiddon received her medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans before returning to Baton Rouge to complete her internal medicine internship.
Dr. Whiddon continued her training at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson as a neurology resident and served as chief resident of the program from 2010-2011.
Dr. Whiddon is a dual-fellow. While in Arizona she completed a one-year fellowship in neurophysiology, then moved to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for another one-year fellowship in movement disorders. This extensive training focused on the specialized treatment of neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson’s Disease as well as dystonia, spasticity and tremors through advanced methods including Deep Brain Stimulation and Botox injections.
Dr. Whiddon joined The NeuroMedical Center in 2013. Today, Dr. Whiddon continues to advance research on Parkinson’s disease through ongoing studies and clinical trials.
