The NeuroMedical Center Clinic (NMCC) is pleased to announce it has been awarded another three-year term of accreditation in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) from the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR ‘Gold Seal of Accreditation’ represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety, and has been awarded to NMCC’s Imaging Center six straight times since 1999.
The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after intense evaluation by board-certified neuroradiologists and experts in the field.  Accreditation signifies a facility’s commitment to performing quality imaging studies, from the utilization of exceptional medical imaging technology to the employment of well-qualified and experienced personnel.

“The NeuroMedical Center is extremely proud of our Imaging team for their continued dedication to achieving excellence in their field, and for consistently offering our patients the level of care they deserve,” said Nancy M. Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of The NeuroMedical Center Clinic. “Earning the Gold Seal of Accreditation for 18 straight years is a tremendous accomplishment, and it is our pledge to keep delivering this level of quality, innovation, and patient safety now and for years to come.”

MRI is a noninvasive medical test that utilizes magnetic fields to produce anatomical images of internal body parts to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. The NeuroMedical Center performs nearly 10,000 MRI scans every year utilizing one of Louisiana’s only 3T MRI scanners, and a sister 1.5T scanner.  The 3T technology is 10 to15 times the strength of most low field or open MRI scanners and is capable of yielding some of the highest quality imaging studies currently available.
