The NeuroMedical Center physicians, staff and the community would like to congratulate John F. Bolter, Ph.D., M.P. on his retirement, July 7, 2017.

Dr. Bolter joined our practice in 1988. During his 29-year tenure, he was an excellent neuropsychologist who served as the Chair of The Board of Examiners of Psychologists for the State of Louisiana, President of The Louisiana Psychological Association, and was an active member of the Spinal Cord and Head Injury Trust Fund of Louisiana.  Dr. Bolter also proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1984-1988.

Dr. Bolter’s contributions to the field of psychology in Louisiana will never be forgotten. Dr. Bolter etched his name into our state’s history books for the instrumental role he played in changing Louisiana law to allow specially trained psychologists the authorization to prescribe certain medications related to the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders.  In 2005, Dr. Bolter was the first psychologist to write a prescription in Louisiana.

Besides relaxing with his family, Dr. Bolter has plans to take up painting, travel, and continue playing the drums in his rock and roll band, Blu Rouge.  Join us in wishing Dr. Bolter much success in the next journey of his life.

Patient medical records will be maintained at The NeuroMedical Center and will remain available to patients as needed.
