Joining the region’s largest network of brain, spine and nervous system experts, Dr. Jonathan D. Thompson brings more than a decade of experience caring for the patients of Louisiana. As the 8th interventional pain management specialist on The NeuroMedical Center’s medical staff, Dr. Thompson will see patients in the Hammond, LA clinic and at our new Slidell, LA clinic.

Dr. Thompson is trained in the most advanced technologies and treatments for acute and chronic pain conditions, such as Neurostimulation, Intrathecal Drug Delivery, and Radiofrequency therapies. He employs a multi-disciplinary approach to each patient to achieve the best physical function and quality of life. He takes pride in the time and accessibility he provides in caring for his patients. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Thompson lectures to Medical and Legal professionals, Insurance Industry, Case Managers, Rehab Counselors on complex pain disorders and diseases that result in functional debilitation and chronic pain.

Born and raised in Louisiana, Dr. Thompson obtained his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans before completing a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at LSU Health Sciences Center.  Dr. Thompson furthered his medical training with a spine fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at LSU. 

Dr. Thompson is dual board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Interventional Spine and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Thompson sees patients at The NeuroMedical Center’s Hammond and Slidell clinics.
