Dr. Honorat is a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology. She completed medical school at the Université d”Etat d’Haiti, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Afterwards, she did a PhD in neuroimmunology at The University of Osaka in Osaka, Japan where she investigated oxidative stress, mitochondria dysfunction and subsequent energy failure in axonal damage and neurodegeneration associated with MS. After her PhD, she did a postdoctoral fellowship in autoimmune neurology and neuroimmunology at the Mayo Clinic under the mentorship of Drs. Andrew McKeon and Sean Pittock. There she worked to identify novel autoantibodies that cause autoimmune encephalitis and other autoimmune neurological diseases, and describe their clinical and paraclinical presentations. She then completed a neurology residency at SUNY Downstate Health Science University in Brooklyn, NY, followed by a clinical fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL.

In her practice, she sees general neurology patients with a focus on multiple sclerosis and related disorders, autoimmune encephalitis, other neuroinflammatory diseases, including neurosarcoidosis, and neurological complications of rheumatological disorders. Dr Honorat is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, International Society of Neuroimmunology and American Neurological Association.
