The NeuroMedical Center Surgical Hospital just recently completed the construction of a new chapel on the north east wing of their 23 bed, physician owned, 55,000 square foot facility, located on the 2nd floor of their new Perkins Rowe location.

The NeuroMedical Center Surgical Hospital only performs elective surgeries on site, but physicians still felt strongly that their patients and their families have a place of spiritual refuge, regardless of faith, in their new state of the art facility.

Erskin Mitchell, a local Louisiana stained glass artist, designed a beautiful stained glass window for the chapel. He created a spiritual scene of two doves flying toward one another with a sunset of reds, pinks, yellows, and oranges floating in the background. Mr. Mitchell has been creating stained glass pieces since 1979 after he received a Master of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University. He has designed stained glass pieces for churches from Texas to Georgia and is currently designing some unique stained glass windows for the New York City subway system.

On February 29, 2008 The NeuroMedical Center Surgical Hospital had the chapel dedicated by numerous local religious leaders of many different faiths. Dr. Flynn, President and Founder of The NeuroMedical Center enthusiastically cut the ribbon that lay across the door of the new chapel. Each religious leader thoughtfully said a few words to bless the chapel and all of those who will find peace inside its walls.
