(BATON ROUGE, LA) The Spine Hospital of Louisiana at The NeuroMedical Center, home of the region’s largest team of experts for the brain, spine and nervous system has been named 2016 Hospital of the Year (less than 60 beds) by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF), recognizing excellence in all aspects of patient care and outstanding contributions to the delivery of healthcare statewide. This prestigious award was accepted by The Spine Hospital of Louisiana physicians, nurses, and administrators at the 15th Annual Louisiana Nurses Foundation Nightingale Awards Gala held at L’Auberge Casino and Hotel, Saturday, March 5, 2016.
The Spine Hospital of Louisiana, rated a 5-star hospital by the federal government based on HCAHPS (quality) scores, credits back-to-back Hospital of the Year honors (2015 & 2016) to an unwavering commitment by its clinical teams, particularly an elite group of nurses, to provide the highest standard of care for patients and their families. “I am so very proud of the exceptional care delivered by our physicians and nurses”, stated Robert D. Blair, CEO of The Spine Hospital. “From the talented hands of our surgeons to the compassionate care of our nurses, we truly have a gem located right here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.”
The Spine Hospital of Louisiana is the state’s leader in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery. It is the surgical branch of one of the nation’s only medical campuses dedicated to specialized care in the neurosciences and is home to all 10 operating neurosurgeons in the Greater Baton Rouge area. 45 registered nurses expertly serve on the front lines of patient care, offering a level of service that has earned national recognition including Press Ganey’s Guardian of Excellence Award, indicating Top 5% Patient Satisfaction scores compared to all U.S. Hospitals.
The Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF), a subsidiary of the Louisiana State Nurses Association (LSNA), focuses on the fundraising, support of educational activities and efforts to recognize nursing accomplishments throughout Louisiana. In support of the mission and goals of LSNA, the LNF strives to improve the quality of health care in Louisiana by the promotion, improvement and protection of professional nursing through education, advocacy, communication, and professional integrity.
