Elbow/Forearm Component

Step-By-Step Instructions

  • Start with your custom configuration of weights and placement of parts received at your initial fitting.
  • Open both straps to expose the thermoplastic component and place the thermoplastic component on the top of your arm at the position recommended for you at your initial fitting.
  • Note: You’ll recall, the top of the thermoplastic component may be 2 or 3 finger widths from the inner elbow.
  • Make any need adjustments between the weights located above the thermoplastic component and below the compressive cover.
  • Cover the weights with the top strap, then secure both straps around the other side of the compressive cover so that the device fits snugly around your arm. Move your arm and down to ensure the Elbow/Forearm Component feels comfortable but does not shift.

 

Hand Component

Step-By-Step Instructions

  • Start with your custom configuration of weights and placement of parts received at your initial fitting.
  • Grasp the base of the glove right under the thumb portion, and carefully slide your hand into the glove. Give extra attention to the inside strap included which will go around your knuckles and ensure close contact is maintained with the back portion of your hand and the thermoplastic component.
  • Expose the Velcro on the wrist strap and secure it around your wrist with gentle compression.

 

Precautions

Please follow the Readi-Steadi® practice schedule outlined for you. This will ensure proper wear time is achieved so that recommendations an adjustments can be made during your follow-up consultation.

Always apply your glove system to clean, dry hands, and after carefully inspecting skin. Avoid using your glove system if you any visible abnormalities on your hands or arms including:

  • Skin Abrasions
  • Bruising
  • Blisters

 

Remove Readi-Steadi® and contact your provider immediately if you experience any of the following while wearing the orthotic glove system:

  • Redness
  • Irritation
  • Itching
  • Burning
  • Change in Sensation
  • Change in Temperature
  • Change in Circulation

 

Care Instructions

  • Remove the compressive covers on your Readi-Steadi® system and wash by hand as needed.
  • Always lay flat to dry.
  • Wipe bases and weights with disinfectant wipe daily.
  • Store your glove system in a cool dry place. Avoid extreme heat such as leaving in a hot vehicle.
