Dr. Soleau has been passionate about medicine and the neurosciences since a young age. He graduated from the University of Virginia's Distinguished Majors Program, earning an undergraduate degree with "Highest Distinction" in the field of Neuroscience. He went on to receive his medical degree from The University of Virginia as well.
Dr. Soleau subsequently performed his Neurosurgery residency at the University of Utah. Following residency he completed two separate one-year fellowships: one in adult complex spine surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the other in pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Alabama Birmingham. He joined The NeuroMedical Center in 2005 and has called Baton Rouge home ever since.
Dr. Soleau treats most neurosurgical conditions of the spine and brain. However, despite being a surgical specialist he considers surgery to be a treatment of last resort. He strongly encourages, helps and empowers his patients to explore the multitude of non-operative treatment options that exist for their particular condition prior to recommending surgery.
He takes great pride in personally seeing his patients at each and every office visit to help guide them through the sometimes difficult and confusing process of medical decision-making.
