Dr. C. Chambliss Harrod is one of the South’s leading orthopedic spine surgeons who prides himself in providing advanced spinal care to patients all across South Louisiana.  With a certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Harrod is an expert in specialized treatment, including laser spine surgery, robotic minimally invasive spine surgery, endoscopic procedures, and robotic spine surgery.

Dr. Harrod completed an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from Louisiana State University. He went on to earned a medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, graduating first in his class. The school recognized his achievements with its Orthopaedic Award.

Continuing his training, Dr. Harrod completed the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. His time there earned him numerous kudos, such as the General Surgery Intern ABSITE High Score Award and the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program Anatomy High Score Award. He also served as an anatomy instructor at Harvard Medical School.

As a practicing surgeon, Dr. Harrod continues to hone his medical skills to provide his patients with the best back care possible. He recently completed a fellowship in combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical spinal surgery at the Rothman Institute at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

When he’s not caring for patients at The Spine Center of Baton Rouge, Dr. Harrod takes an active role in medical research. He contributes to scholarly journals and writes book chapters on spinal topics and general orthopaedics. He currently is accepting new patients.
