"I previously had two back surgeries for herniated discs but when severe pain recurred in 2013 I knew this time was different. I had injections, rest, physical therapy and oral meds with not much relief from the pain in my lower back, hip and leg. By 2015 the pain was debilitating. It was difficult for me to walk or do activities of daily living by myself due to the severe pain. I saw Dr. Scrantz at The NeuroMedical Center for an evaluation. He diagnosed me with spondylolisthesis and lumbar radiculopathy and recommended a spinal fusion at L4, L5, and S1. He hoped for an 80% improvement in my pain level. I had surgery and after 4 days in the hospital I returned home and had physical therapy for about 6 weeks. Several months of recuperation was needed. The pain in my hip and leg was almost totally gone! At my recent one year check up I told Dr. Scrantz that I was 90 % better and that he ought to be pleased with himself. He said he was “happy.” I am too! I thank Dr. Scrantz and his staff for being there for me when I needed them. I am thankful for my husband of 46 years for taking care of me before and after surgery. We have been able to resume travel in our motor home seeing the U.S.A . I am able to briskly walk a mile and a half daily and I am able to keep up with five school age grandchildren!"
