Dr. Scrantz Appointed Chairman of the Board for The NeuroMedical Center Clinic

Kelly J. Scrantz, M.D., Neurosurgeon at The NeuroMedical Center Clinic and Surgical Hospital, was recently appointed Chairman of the Board for The NeuroMedical Center Clinic. Dr. Scrantz succeeds Dr. Thomas B. Flynn, Founder and former Chairman of the Board. Dr. Flynn established the NeuroMedical Center in 1978 when he hired a fellow neurosurgeon and neurologist. Today The NeuroMedical Center consists of a Clinic, a Surgical Hospital, and a Rehabilitation Hospital that has over 25 physicians specializing in the neurosciences and over 400 employees that provide care to patients in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi.

Dr. Scrantz joined The NeuroMedical Center in 2006. He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and received his medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Scrantz completed his internship in general surgery and a residency in neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee Semmes-Murphey Clinic in Memphis. He also received special training in minimally invasive and complex spinal surgery, as well as complex skull based brain tumors. He is board eligible with the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
