Doctor Spotlight: Dr. Charles Bowie at The NeuroMedical Center
The NeuroMedical Center has been proud to have Dr. Charles Bowie on our staff since 2014. A native of Eunice, Louisiana, Dr. Bowie majored in Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University and earned his medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. Dr. Bowie would go on to complete his general surgery internship and neurosurgery residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Finally, before ultimately returning home to the practice medicine in South Louisiana, Dr. Bowie went to the Endovascular Neurosurgery/Neuro Interventional Radiology to complete fellowship training.
An Accomplished Doctor
As a part of The NeuroMedical Center’s neurosurgery department, Dr. Bowie often travels to our satellite location in Eunice to treat patients and stay involved in the community. He performs operations to treat complex cerebral vascular conditions: stroke, vertebral stenosis, intracranial stenosis, and aneurysms. He also has the surgical expertise to treat patients suffering from degenerative disorders of the spine like spinal compressional, herniated or ruptured discs, osteoarthritis, as well as cranial and spinal tumors. Lastly, Dr. Bowie specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, including advanced laser spine surgery that is only available in the Gulf Coast region through the Spine Hospital of Louisiana.
