Kim Pettijohn has been with The Spine Hospital of Louisiana since it opened as The NeuroMedical Center Surgical Hospital in 2004. She is originally from Charleston, South Carolina but has lived in Baton Rouge for 29 years. In 2016, Kim received her MSN (Summa Cum Laude) in Health Care Systems Management from Loyola University, New Orleans. Kim earned her BSN from Clemson University. She received her Professional Certification of CNOR in 2013. In addition, as a direct result of her academic performance at Loyola, Kim has been inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International, the honor society of Nursing.
As Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Kim oversees all aspects of Clinical Operations, Compliance and Quality. She was promoted to the position in 2016, after six years as SHOLA’s Clinical Services director, where she directed the day to day operations of the Pre-Op, OR, PACU, Pain Medicine, and Radiology functions in the hospital. Kim’s expertise and commitment to delivering a high level of patient care have helped The Spine Hospital of Louisiana achieve outstanding national and statewide honors including the coveted 5-Star Hospital rating from the federal government, Press Ganey’s Guardian of Excellence Award (top 5% nationally for Patient Satisfaction), and back-to-back Hospital of the Year honors from the Louisiana Nurses Foundation (2015 & 2016).
